I went to the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) and Frans Hals Museum (Haarlem) in the Netherlands and your posts inspired me to look critically in the way the art was presented and also how people of colour were present in the art. A thing I especially noticed was how scenes with historical people who certainly must’ve had a darker skin colour were presented as blondes with skin white as snow. I made some pictures you may be interested to see. I made pictures of most of accompanying information signs. (Sorry for the lackluster image quality). For some I added detail shots for the POC.
The above were in an exhibit about the Dutch colony in Surinam, going into the Dutch history of how they used slaves for the labor there.
